Maybe get rid of one of six fire trucks and keep the ball fields. Does surfside really need six fire trucks for 12 blocks?

I've been living in the Surfside area since I was 3 years old. I am appalled that the town council is even considering such. This is the family beach!! Not to mention, our high school St. James has benefited greatly from the Surfside baseball programs. SJHS has a state title and has been a runner up several times. Most of the kids on those teams started with Surfside youth baseball programs. Please look to another area to makes your cuts.

My nephew loves playing baseball in Surfside. It would be a travesty to lose something that helps keep so many young people learn the values that only playing sports can truly give.

You have to be kidding... for this to be up for a conversation. Taking away a ball park really... and all for the greed of selling more houses.. wow. . Surfside you continue to find all time lows...

Why would you even think that this would be ok to do? It's bad enough that there isn't enough for our youth to do without putting the families in financial binds for travel ball or other activities, let's make positive impacts on our up and coming youth to prepare them for life lessons along with team sports and keep them active from the start and mold them into respective adults....

I was born and raised in Surfside Beach, I played baseball and football at this field along with alot of my family members and friends. I also had uncles that coached at this field also. So many great memories and the memories need to continue with our youth. Please do whatever it takes to keep it up and going. Thanks!!

I grew up playing for Surfside since I was 4 years old starting with tee ball and going all the way up through softball during my high school years. I'm now 41 years old. It's some of the best memories I have of my childhood and I'd like my children to have the same. They have also played for Surfside since they were four years old. Please give our children the same opportunity we had growing up. Keep baseball and softball in Surfside!
