We need everyone to come to the Town Council Meeting on Tuesday 1/24/17 at 6:30pm and show support for the kids of this community, if money is so tight why did the town council vote 4 weeks ago to give the town administrator a 5% raise which by the way puts that salary over $100,000 per year. NEED TO SAVE MONEY MY ASS!

PUT THE KIDS FIRST!!!!! So Sad and Disappointing That The Surfside Council's Proclaimed "Family Beach" Wants to Do Away With Youth Baseball and Softball That Is A Huge Part Of So Many Local Families!! PLEASE SAVE HUCKABEE For THE CHILDREN!! Doing The RIGHT Thing May Not Be Monetarily Beneficial,But What The Children Gain Is Priceless And Should Count For Something!!

Not sure who's bright idea it is to take something productive and character building like youth sports away from our community. This means a lot to the kids. Think about them (the kids)instead your business partners.

Don't shut down baseball in surfside. You guys on the town council are looking at it from the wrong perspective. Baseball and softball are very important in many kids lives in and around the town of surfside. If you would just expand your perspective and allow tournaments to be played you could make plenty of money that you wouldn't even need to make the program a line item on your town budget. Surfside is supposed to be a "family beach" but you old people on town council are trying to turn it into a retirement beach. Take the blinders off and get a clue. Expand your idea of what you can do. They're are many influential people who want to make baseball in surfside successful. Don't act like Hilary and the rest of the liberals and have a closed mind to being successful. #msbga= make surfside baseball great again.

It would be shameless and certainly against Mr. Huckabee's wish. Not to mention the children in our community. Isn't the children what the "family friendly" town of Surfside is supposed to be about? If council members (and I could name names) raised their children here, then their own children played on those very fields!

Youth sports are a important influence in a kids life keeps them active and pre-occupied with important things. Such things as team building, leadership, and characteristics that will help in a day to day struggle of a youth

I was born and raised in surfside, played ball for surfside when I was a kid. My son now plays ball for surfside. Keep the tradition going for years to come...
