Save SurfsideYouth Baseball and Softball!

So many children look forward to baseball here in Surfside - it would be a shame to take this away from them!

This is a important program, to provide structure for children, in the evil world we live in. To get rid of it for some condo unit or anything else, would be absolutely absurd!

Organized sports is the best way to teach children commitment, teamwork, tolerance, confidence. It gives them opportunities to meet and make friends they otherwise wouldn't have. Not to mention it allows them to get outside, burn some energy, get dirty, be kids! Surfside Beach, please don't make the same mistake you made with surfside pier. Organized sports is not about making a quick dollar. It's about investing in our children's lives, in their future.

Please don't close this down so many memories as a child playing here !!

Mayor Huckabee fought so hard to build these fields for the youth and now you want to "liquidate"? You should be ashamed ! Poor budgeting & acquisitions!

Keep baseball and softball in surfside.

I grew up at this park and have some of my best memories there. Please don't take that from other kids!

As a child who grew up in the Town of Surfside Beach, I think about how my life would have been greatly altered by not being able to play softball all of those years. Taking away something so family oriented from a "family beach" is senseless and unfair for future generations.

Save the fields.

I live in Murrells Inlet and my daughter plays softball. I work in Surfside for a company that has been here for 15 years. I support the local grocery stores, post office, pharmacies and restaurants. Surfside is a great community and the Town Council needs to give our children a place to play.

please do not do away with the youth program at huckabee park

Surfside needs this park, I practically grew up playing at this park and it paid for my college education with a baseball scholarship. Please don't shut it down.

With our town growing, we need more places for our kids to play sports. Baseball is a loved sport by many kids, including mine, including their father, who grew up playing and loving the game. He is also their coach. Do NOT take this away from SO MANY youths and big kids. Surely there is another way to go aboit this to make all happy!!

I played there and coached kids there years later. Kids need places like this.
