My brothers and I grew up on these baseball fields. I can't imagine them not being there for the new generations of kids to come! Don't take this away from them!

My 3 year old just starting playing ball this past year. He had an amazing coach and my husband and I got approval to co-coached the team as his Wife was pregnant and needed a little more support in the dugout. We had such an amazing time not to mention now my son wants to play all the sports available at this facility. My older children, ages 16 and 17 loved attending and watching their practice and games. The fields are literally only two miles away from home which would allow my daughter, age 6, to also play this year along with many of my friends children. I may be only one person, but my Son thoroughly enjoyed his baseball season and it clearly impacted our family in a positive way. Taking this convenient, clean and athletic and social development away would be a mistake. A mistake for any child and family.

Why on earth would you do away with youth baseball and softball? Is that what is being proposed here? If so that's insane. It gives kids something to do, something to care about, keeps them out of trouble in some cases, furthers their social ability and provides tuition assistance in a lot of cases.

I grew up on these ball fields and learned some of life's greatest lessons. It's insane to think that Surfside Beach would even consider doing away with these programs! Promote healthy living and teamwork in the community and keep baseball and softball!

The city of Myrtle Beach, NMB and even Georgetown have figured out that increasing youth sports provides more dollars generated in communities to business owners. A win for local businesses and an outlet for our youth....am I missing something here? See all of you on Tuesday at the meeting!

Park needs to stay open. If the land next to it was not being developed it would not be a problem. If they are gping to close they need to build a park like the one on the north end of town.
Please save huckabee rec !!!
