Growing up playing youth baseball taught me a lot growing up helped me mature in big ways and socializing with other kids I would of never thought to talk to it just wouldn't be right to end this for the kids

We need to keep the field open for baseball. These kids need this to develop team skills and friendships that could last a lifetime. For some kids, this is all they have.

You should not be cutting children's extra curricular activities. You should read Angela Druckenworths Grit preservance and passion research about the importance of this in a child's life. It's worth the read because afterwards you won't consider cutting any of these programs.

My son played ball there in the 1990s. It is appalling to me that it is even considered an option to close this wonderful part down for the sake of money. Over 800 kids go there each year. The children are our future.

I think it is very important that a city provide recreation for the children in the community.

Our son loves to play spring ball with the Surfside Rec and has since he was 5, his father Robbie Rader has coached him every year since he began and it's become a huge part of our lives.

Vacation in Surfside every summer. Always enjoy the youth games. Why take this from the kids? Many life lessons and memories start in youth leagues.

For my brother-in-law who coaches here and for my nephew who plays here...keep America's favorite pastime in Surfside!

As President of the Woodmore Youth Organization, I am wholeheartedly in support of youth sports. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult the decision may be for all in your area in the aftermath of the hurricane, but please do not let the youth suffer further as a result. We need every kid to be as active as possible. Youth sports are the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. Please continue to provide opportunities for youth in your region, and thank you for your time.

I own a small business in a medium size town. My business needs to reach as many families as possible with my tight advertising budget. I have been supporting youth sports in several communities for 5 years now. It is a win win situation. I get to support the youth and help keep them active and my business is advertised at the parks and ball fields and on shirts and caps for minimum expense. City Council PLEASE reach out to your small business community to support your programs. Our youth our the future for all of us.
