Keep the name! Sunset has been a savior to many children in our community. We should be proud of this school. Who cares what others think. We know!!

Do not rename the school. Sunset High School is a great institution with dedicated teachers and staff. As students we learned in a self-paced environment with access to teachers and counselors when we needed them. This style of learning is similar to online schooling but it’s better because you have an in-person element. The magic was that we could still work outside of school or care for ourselves and our family. I became an adult much quicker than my peers as a result of the enriching and independent learning environment. Thanks to this school, I was able to go on to university and then grad school. I am now a professor teaching at two community colleges, and I am proud to be a Sunset High School graduate.

Why? Graduated from San Dieguito before LCC. Many of my friends attended Sunset for one reason or another and are wonderful people and productive citizens because it was available. Sunset isn't negative, it's a necessity for many! Leave our schools' name alone and worry about the students!

I am opposed to changing the name, leave it alone it has special meaning to a lot of us locals quit trying to turn this into orange county!
