As an Oakmont Softball Alum, I think Coach Stockman is a huge part of this program’s rising success. As both a highly educated, inspiring, and dedicated teacher and coach, Oakmont High School has her to thank for bringing the softball program to a section’s appearance for the first time in a decade. I graduated in 2019, and as a 4 year varsity athlete being apart of a program who had zero wins in league(prior to Stockman’s position as head coach) to progress our wins each year after she took leadership over our program to winning league my senior year (year 3 of Stockman’s coaching). She implemented key standards for our program and vital experience to take our athletes to the next level to compete and be victorious in an Oakmont Softball uniform. Not only can her coaching be merited, but in addition her amazing skills as a teacher in the classroom. While being coached by her I also had the privilege of being her Teacher Intern for a semester. She accomplished an impossible task of getting students to be excited to engage in Physical Education and learn about exercise. She has the ability to teach someone how to compete, be excited about it, and win. I stand with many behind me to keep Stockman because the victorious future of Oakmont Softball is promised with her lead. She makes me proud to have been able to be a Viking, and fight for her on the field any day. Please secure the best gift Oakmont softball has been blessed with, Hailey Stockman.

Both of my daughters play for Coach Stockman. SHE is the one that has turned the oakmont varsity softball program around. We went from 4-10 in league play in 2017 to 9-1 in league play last year and came in 1st place! That’s quite a turn around. It took 3 years for the girls to learn her system and play the way she wanted them to play. Coach Stockman has been a huge influence and a great role model for these girls over the last 3 years and now heading into the 4th year. I understand budget cuts but my goodness....why would you cut a coach who has done this over the last 3 years? Horrible decision and I Hope Oakmont finds the $$ to keep her beyond this year! She has EARNED that opportunity!

My younger sister went to Oakmont and participated in sports, all the coaches were amazing. Why take someone away from the kids they love to coach.

i had stockman as my pe teacher, when i was a freshman, she is such a cool coach and should stay at oakmont.

I just don’t understand why you’d force our Coach to leave. If you look at Oakmonts history in softball, you’ll see that her arriving has changed the game dramatically. We went from winning just a few games a season to taking the league title for the first time in almost 20 years! Stockman is the best softball coach Oakmont has ever had, and she’s both loved and deeply respected by her athletes. I think the impact she’s had on this program is pretty obvious, as you wouldn’t be getting all the emails you received last night and will continue to receive throughout the week from both her athletes and her students. I hope you take all these emails and signatures on this petition into consideration and realize the affect this will have on the school.

I now have my second daughter for Coach Stockman and she has had such a positive influence on them both. My older daughter is playing in college and she feels she was prepared to play there after playing for Stock. I can’t think of anything more important for a teacher coach than preparing a person for the next chapter in their life.
