The district just confirmed that Coach Stockman is staying at Oakmont. We forced them to listen and kept our coaching staff intact. Keep an eye on school board agendas next month to make sure this promise stays in writing.

Hmmmmm....a role model for her players....an asset to her employer.....and a winner who really cares for what she does and the people she does it for. Doesn’t make any sense to me. Hope the right thing is done for all involved.
Both of my daughters play for Coach Stockman. SHE is the one that has turned the oakmont varsity softball program around. We went from 4-10 in league play in 2017 to 9-1 in league play last year and came in 1st place! That’s quite a turn around. It took 3 years for the girls to learn her system and play the way she wanted them to play. Coach Stockman has been a huge influence and a great role model for these girls over the last 3 years and now heading into the 4th year. I understand budget cuts but my goodness....why would you cut a coach who has done this over the last 3 years? Horrible decision and I Hope Oakmont finds the $$ to keep her beyond this year! She has EARNED that opportunity!
I just don’t understand why you’d force our Coach to leave. If you look at Oakmonts history in softball, you’ll see that her arriving has changed the game dramatically. We went from winning just a few games a season to taking the league title for the first time in almost 20 years! Stockman is the best softball coach Oakmont has ever had, and she’s both loved and deeply respected by her athletes. I think the impact she’s had on this program is pretty obvious, as you wouldn’t be getting all the emails you received last night and will continue to receive throughout the week from both her athletes and her students. I hope you take all these emails and signatures on this petition into consideration and realize the affect this will have on the school.
I now have my second daughter for Coach Stockman and she has had such a positive influence on them both. My older daughter is playing in college and she feels she was prepared to play there after playing for Stock. I can’t think of anything more important for a teacher coach than preparing a person for the next chapter in their life.
I have knows Coach Stockman my whole life. She is the nicest person ever. She has also played softball her whole life and knows a lot about the game. She cares to be out there every day and watch us players grow. She needs to stay because she helped build this program to be its best. Coach was able to take this program from nothing to something everyone knows about that. I live in foresthill and it takes about 45 minutes to get to Oakmont. The only reason I got to Oakmont is because of Stockman. I hope that you guys think about your decision because she means a lot to everyone and she needs to stay.
KEEP STOCKMAN!!!!

Stockman was someone whom I’ve always looked up to since the minute she stepped on campus my sophomore year! She is someone who really made me love the game of softball again. She is one of the most hardworking, determined, and passionate coaches I’ve ever had and if she is forced to leave Oakmont that would be a major mistake. I truly hope Oakmont reconsiders this decision so that Stockman can continue to change lives there!
