What a shame this is,south bank coke ovens closing now steel could be lost also. This country is surrendering it's national identity.

We all have friends and family working in this industry and dont want to see countless others suffer as a result of it shutting down. Let's remember the term "Infant Hercules" and sustain some of what was once revered.

I worked on the steel works when it was being built in 1976 its a crying shame what's happened to the British steel industry

3000 jobs lost is a bad thing. Compare saving this plant to the cost of having 3000 extra people claiming benefits.

If the Government can pour millions into the failing banking system then surely they can do likewise for industry when it gets into difficulties through no fault of it's own?
