Safeguard these jobs, this industry and these peoples and their families livelihoods. Let's face it, the banks have been bailed out to the tune of how many billions and there's always millions in the pot for foreign aid et al so for once, support the hard working folk of the North East!!

Supporting local families and the local community who are reeling from this news. I spoke to one family who have five members over two generations who were working at the steelworks - they are devistated by the situation!

Other countries are subsidising their steel making from government handouts. We make the best quality steel so SSI should get some help.

Come on UK government, you're ploughing billions into overseas aid & helping "refugees". How about saving a British & North East Tradition. We are the best steel producers on the planet! Please don't let it disappear like the coal industry????
