The fallout of this will be massive. Will reach further than the SSI employees. Help is required, not a bailout.

THE STEEL MADE IN THIS COUNTRY IS PROBABLY THE BEST IN THE WORLD. THE SKILLS OF THE WORKERS WILL BE LOST IF TEESIDE LOSES ITS STEEL. I THOUGHT THE NORTH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE POWER HOUSE OF THE COUNTRY? SO WHAT ARE WE GOING TO HAVE WHEN THE HEAVY INDUSTRIES ARE ALL GONE?

This is a vital industry that needs and deserves to be saved. The government should intervene to keep this business afloat.

Stop destruction of industry in the north by successive governments who don't care about anywhere past Watford.

If we can find £3million for a Chinese football pitch surely we can find find to secure jobs and help UK industrial base? 150 jobs loss in Redcar area will be devastating.

it seems that this country like to look good in sending aid help to the world but when it comes to the help of its own people it's swept under the carpet, i have lived here for 55 years and in that time i have seen almost all of our once great industrial works go with it the thousanders of side lines that depended on them, since thatcher fake promises and we are now a nation of walk death at no work in the northeast has made this place a living hell.

I do not think the government will be happy until there is nothing left up the North;no steel making and no manufacturing;nojobs
