I'm not a Teeside resident, but I hate to see what is happening in Redcar - this cannot be allowed to happen, the steel industry should not and must not be allowed to decline further. David Cameron, please find a way to help save the industry - just providing support to people who have lost their jobs (while needed) is not the solution. They need a sustainable industry to work in and help maintain the communities that exist around the works and associated industries.

Bring SSI back . Lots of Jobs have been lost and it's sad to see most people loose their jobs , some of which are great friends . Teeside is not gonna be the same without this type of industry !!!

I am a former SSI UK mechanical technician on the Redcar higher level engineering team. What this government has allowed to happen to this industry and area is criminal and the manner in which it has been done is descusting. We deserve honest answer for honest hard working men and women.

Even the Director of Steel UK highlighted the problems of extra production costs faced by UK firms.Whats going to happen when we have to import every inch of steel????

The country had money to bail out the banks, then to give half of it away to rich city traders in discountd share prices. Now its time to support the hard working ordinary people there will be no money available.

Save British steel don't let the history die down to nothing my father worked there in he's younger years and the experience he gained from working the kept he's family at bay and made lots of friends to now which are all out of jobs this will be a big downfall for not just the employers but to redcar save British steel
