Regardless of the huge local implications for the closure of the Redcar Iron and Steel Plant; Steel is a strategic industry of national importance and MUST be saved unless we are to be totally dependent on other countries.

hard working,dedicated men doing a difficult job for world needed steel & if this closes Redcar,Middlesbrough & surrounding towns will feel the knock on effect ,closing businesses in these already precarious hard times

The free market won't save this! The cost to the tax payer in terms of unemployment will be substantial in addition to the social cost! The Germans subsidise industry when they need to and so should we!!!

The North East has lost so much industry, jobs and talented people who have had to move out the area Please let the government recognise Redcar as a place in the UK as well as London and put some investment back
