So much for the Tory promises of a Northern Industrial powerhouse. Lies and deceit... which is why only 25% of those eligible to vote voted for them the rest of us don't want them

Shocking that Cameron and Co are busy giving money to China for football - one of the richest countries while letting our steel industry go to the dogs.

Steel production does need to be saved on Tees Valley even if it is scaled down. The legacy should still be kept and treasured and made into specialist service to the World Market. If there is another option to re -employ and support people to move forward from the Steel Works these options need to be shared ASAP. 1700 in one go is a huge number to manage and find local jobs for. I do hope a good decision is made to look after all of these hard working people and family. I am hopeful that the powers that be and decision makers will not let The Tees Valley people down. Xx

There's lots of Conservative voters in the North East descended from workers who built the nation and empire who are watching how you react to this.

Dave and Gideon wouldn't hesitate to bail out their greedy banker pals the next time they get into trouble, so help the steel workers keep their jobs.

The north east urgently needs investment and support. The government must show that it supports one of the most disadvantaged and neglected regions of the country. We stand with you
