I feel very strongly about this as my mum worked on the plant in the research laboratories and know she works in another organisation which is in its backside; The NHS. Anywhere north of London you couldn't care less about if the SSI/Corus/British Steel plant was in London or somewhere down south you'd bend over backwards to save it but because it's in the north you couldn't care less and would rather spend our countries money on cheap imports from Sweden and China. Your Northern Powerhouse vision is turning out to be a total joke and I for one will not be voting for you next election!!!

I have worked within the steel industry for over 8 years working in Long and Strip Products at Llanwern Steelworks, Newport. I work alongside passionate and extremely knowledgable colleagues who have worked for the steel industry for up to 30 years.
The steel industry is fundamental for the UK and needs to remain in the UK with the skilled and dedicated workforces that we have.
