This statue depicts fallen soldiers not just a specific war and this statue is not even on government property so this should not even be a topic for discussion

There is no flag on this statue & it is NOT on government property!!! The people who are pushing for the removal of this statue are the ones who are racist! They are the ones keeping the ugliness and hatred going! The statue is not black or white, it's BRONZE!!! Do the people that want this piece of Salisbury' s history removed know that the confederate army was the 1st U.S. military group to allow black men to join as FREE men? These hate groups are trying to completely erase our southern heritage!!! Does that mean that we can protest & get rid of Black History Month or Martin Luther King' s holiday??? EQUAL RIGHTS, EVEN FOR WHITES!!!!!

Please leave the statue where it is, it is part of Salisbury's history. Until recently with the news media stirring up contraversary this statue and many other historic monuments/flags were not a problem. These monuments don't symbolize hatred and cleansing history only does and injustice to everyone. You can't change history by removing all references to what occurred in the past. Move forward, learn from past mistakes, but honor those who fought for what they believed in.
