I really do support this cause, but can someone please edit the petition to make it proper; with capitals, and punctuation.

History shouldn't be taken down. History happened, leave this as a reminder to help prevent history from repeating itself.

The statue should remain right where it is! It is not a Hate symbol but a Memorial to those Confederate Veterans (both black & white) who fought and died for their beliefs.

IT'S A SAD DAY IN OUR COUNTRY WHEN IGNORANT GROUPS RUN AROUND TRYING TO DESTROY, ALL THE HISTORY AND MONUMENTS OF HISTORY, THAT OUR FOREFATHERS LEFT TO REMIND US OF OUR HISTORY ... HERITAGE SHOULD BE PRESERVED "GET A GRIP"

Taking down history will not make it go away. Teaching our children to respect each other and teaching them our heritage (the statue is everyone's heritage) good and bad will perhaps make a difference. The only thing that will happen, by taking it down, will be more division between groups and cultures.

Leave the statue! It is a peaceful symbol remembering lives lost. There has never been an issue with it until now, when all the fingers start being pointed by different races. The statue has nothing to do with race whatsoever. It will be a sad sad day if something like this actually happened.

This should not even be a thought in anyone's head, History should be left alone! If this beautiful monument should come down, then every other Historic property in this County should also come down, history is history, you cannot pick and choose which part you want to remember, it all means something!

Taking this down will NOT STOP HATE! Hate is a choice of the hater.

Please leave the statute in place. It is a soldier that helped defend our country! He is in heaven now with an angel on his shoulders. What could possibly be wrong with that! This is the USA we stand proud of our heroes and Angels!

I think the statue should stay. It was here before any of us were. It doesn't stand for racism or anything like that. Its pointless to remove a 106 year old statue that stands for so much more than racism. The race wars are getting out of hand. Doing this to what people believe in is going to cause another civil war.
