I remember looking at this statue as a little girl and thinking how awesome it was. I always thought of it as a soldier being protected by an angel. Please don't take it down.

Keep our angel. I never knew which side this soldier was on, only that an angel was holding him up. This angel needs to stay.

I had 2 ancestors to fight for Rowan county one in the 52nd and the 57th North Carolina and multiple more in other counties. That statue is a memorial and sacred ground.

Why does this statue need to be removed like it said it's been there for a 106 years that statue is apart of Salisbury and getting rid of it would be taking a part of Salisbury away. Please people leave it where it at its a believe statue that deserves to stay .

We shouldn't have to sign a petition to keep a state land mark, a representation of our heritage, and a monument that shows how united we are whether black or white.

When will people understand these statues dont mean racist. Our family members both black and white fought and died for their country. Its time for some history lessons.
