I wish that some people would stop trying to push their way of thinking on every one else. The statue has been where it is for as long as I can remember and to my knowledge has not harmed any one. Stop trying to change our heritage to suit yourselves. If you don't like things the way they are; go somewhere that suits you. Don't try to change our lives or way of living or try to take away our heritage !

Lived in this town all my life and the Statue is a part of the town...I have NEVER looked on it as anything but part of my heritage!!!!

Why destroy marks of history? Its not the flag that causes discrimination is people with no remorse, and no care for man kind. Why not take all these people that are post ugly pictures with the us flag and take them off of welfare?

This is getting out of hand. That statue does not refer to slavery, it is representing an angle helping a solider.

If we HAVE to remove this, then maybe we should remove MLK Blvd,,,,To my knowledge neither has ever hurt anyone and the statue has been here for OVER 100 years!!
I'm sure there is something else we could use our tax dollars on!!!

Leave the statue alone!! Hate is in people's hearts not on a statue!! We are sick of being labeled racists! We are sick of our heritage being taken down! Get rid of the black panthers who are encouraging their members to kill all white men and their families... That's hate, that's racists!
