There is no reason to take down such a beautiful piece of art that is also history in our town.

I lived in Rowan County for 40 years! That statue is more than just an angel and a soldier... it is the character of the people living there and definition of what Salisbury stands for.

Being politically correct is one thing but do not see why taxpayer money should go to remove that statue. Keep it. And for any political person that says remove, vote them out. They are wasting your taxpayer money.

when will all this BS end? if people dont like it leave the city or don't look at it .if they want to find something offensive? pick something we all can agree on that makes sense like child and animal abuse. or corrupt politicians.we all need to start saying no to all this bull sh$t. you can't please everyone. at least let the common people vote on it not the city officials. where has all the common sense gone in the usa

Please stop giving into these tirades of people who are looking for any reason to destroy the very fabric and history of our country and communities.
Salisbury just won't be the same if this statue is removed.

Please do not statute down. It is a beautiful piece of work that means so much to very many of us. Let's not do what SC did. Many people fought for that flag. The people were all of different races.

The statue needs to remain because it is a representation of our Southern Heritage. No one has complained about it until recently. It is a beautiful monument and has deep roots in Salisbury. As government officials you are the voice of the people, so please let our voice be heard and keep our precious statue

It's been there this long and hasn't been an issue... Why remove it... Its a piece of history... You are in historic Salisbury after all... As far as tourism the history is about all we have... I believe removing the statue will hurt us... It's one less attraction... Those newer art statues around Salisbury are nice but they don't attract tourist

This statue represents nothing but history and the saving grace of angels. People need need to grow up. Remember, just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

I am so disappointed in our city that you all would even consider taking down the statue.. My husband is a retired Marine and we are proud of that statue and the angel holding that soldier. Just think about the VA here in this town and all the military families who live her or come to town and see that. It's a beautiful thing. It would be a big mistake...
