Please leave the pews in they are a very important part of St Lawrence. Cushions are a much cheaper option either provided or take your own.

This is part of the history and fabric of this church. My family worshipped here and my grandfather is buried here.

I totally agree! Our beautiful church ought to be left as it is. Plastic chairs? Yuk! If you find the pews hard, bring a cushion!

I have visited Churches, were they have replaced the chairs with stackable or folding chairs. The whole atmosphere is changed, the reverence of the building gone.

Please don't remove such an important bit of history for generations to see in the future. There are very few churches so beautiful.

Please leave Bovingdon History alone.

They are part of Bovingdon's heritage, it would be sacrilege to remove and replace them with chairs.

Some things are worth fighting for and worth saving. In the great scheme of things maybe pews aren't top of the list but when it comes to heritage these do count on so many levels. I would prefer they stay please.

Was married and had 3 children baptised here. The pews are beautiful and are part of the character and history of the church! It also makes no sense to rip them out and use money unnecessarily to replace them with other seating.

Why destroy 200 years of history, disgraceful. So many places are destroying England's history. Leave it as it is.

This is a travesty - please leave the pews, they are part of the history of the church.

I grew up in Bovingdon and got married in the church. The pews are beautiful and should remain as they are.

I grew up attending this church and it is still a place of calm and comfort to me Please do not destroy it's history with this well-intentioned but misguided action
