If they close the school we simply vote in another party to actually take note of what their local voters demand in what is meant to be a democracy, not, and should never be a financial decision, particularly in an area where there shouldn't be any shortfall on available funding.....

Hate to see kids suffer at the hands of a council closing a school. Happened to me many moons ago and it was awful. Something that's hard to get over as it rips the whole body of a school and community apart

My Children attended this fine School from 1985 'till 1997and I have family memories from My Grandmother who died aged 107 who was not Catholic being supported by St Joseph's clergy from the school in Woodlands St where she lived, she said there should always be a choice for education and was pleased that I sent my children to St Joseph's to be educated, that is the legacy of St Joseph's school in Milngavie

Although not from the local area i have 2 young children who attend our local primary, intentionally of course. The purpose of such is just that, it's local. It's one thing once children get older and make the transition into secondary education to have to travel, of course if need be. However for young children it is clearly of importance that the school be of moderate distance to home. I think this example of a council carrying on regardless, in light of what appears to be massive public support against the closure is just indicative of the present blinkered attitude these days. Damn what the parents think and damn whats best for the kids.., we'll just do what the hell we like! All the best in stopping the go ahead of the closure. It really would be such a shame for all the kids who no doubt trust, feel safe, and who ultimately thrive going to their LOCAL school of choice, be forced into being bused away to a new unwanted one.

Primary school children are entitled to be educated in a local school,where one already exists.I would oppose this if it applied to St.Andrew's Primary instead.

I am a former pupil of St Joseph's Primary and I loved it, I was only there for a few years but it was the best most caring school I have ever attended. St Joseph's means so much to me my family have attended it too and my grandmother Moira Graham worked there as the Lollipop Lady and that holds a lot of memories for me, of this school isn't saved it will break my heart and destroy what is such a happy place for my family and I to remember my gran. She loved St Joseph's and I really hope we can save the school together

Actually didn't go to St Josephs Primary but I believe that we should keep the school in Milngavie for the only Roman Catholic school in the area, it wouldn't be fair for the children to travel when we have a great school on our doorstep!!!

another alternative might be to change school status to an Academy like in England and Wales and get out of local council's authority....
