Save St Joseph's Primary School

This is one of the only Catholic schools close to milngavie SAVE ITTT!!!!!

Keep at joes in milngavie children love their school and parents love it and teachers love their jobs

Disgraceful to even consider closing schools such as this.

I was in primary 7 when the current school opened and that was 58 years ago! It seems heartbreaking that some are attempting to close this school. Sending little children to Bearsden by bus seems to me criminal.

Please save this fabulous school for all our local children

Having wasted more tax payers money on independent surveys which report the good condition of the school and having entered into a consultation process which fundamentally ignores the views of stakeholders, East Dunbartonshire Council still seeks the closure of a wonderful school. No surprise that this has largely been driven by the convener and vice convener of the education committee. Doubtful that they could close other schools, which they will in due course if they didn't manage to close a school on their own door steps. Shameful! Let's hope St Joseph's continues to provide excellent schooling long into the future.

Your children have a right to remain a member of their faith community. Good Luck!! If EDC close this school, you should all Home School your children. Check out Home Schooling, very flexible, rewarding for children and parents. This has the advantage of providing your children with the personalised education they have a right to, and may not be getting from EDC. Forms can be obtained from EDC. It would also ensure that EDC receives no money from the Scottish Government to educate your children, leaving EDC with a white elephant to pay for in the form of the new St Andrew's Primary school! i went to this school for my primary along with 2 other siblings. i find it horrendous that any human being would think it fit and proper to send young children in this day and age outwith their own community.this must also be against health and safety. The Catholic children in Milngavie should be entitled to Catholic Education along with other children in the school from other denominations. this is a wonderful community and should not be taken away from our young and their future!

I fully support the desire of the community to retain a valuable education facility within the local community and be allowed to explore the option of setting up an independent community school as an alternative to test new ways of delivering cost effective education - giving more choice, more competition and better results.
