Nothing except the intentional steps taken by the archdiocese has affected enrollment numbers. The St. Jerome School community should be embraced by the archdiocese, rather than cast aside.

The need is now for St. Jerome’s School and Parish legacy to continue. If you make the choice for St. Jerome’s School to become obsolete then St Jerome’s Parish will soon follow in that direction. Think and pray before you act in making this kind of decision final. The pandemic did not make this choice, your leadership did. It seems that your leadership needs replacing or at the very least needs to retake class 101 on being a catholic, kindness, and respect. Make the right choice and save Saint Jerome’s School located at 598 Bridge Street, North Weymouth, MA 02191. The address is shown for your leadership to realize that this community is alive with a large diversity of people. Photos can be sent if needed so you can see the lives of the people your decision will affect. No decision is easy but making the right for the right reasons is. My God help you in your final decision.

I graduated from the eighth grade in 1988 education and the friends I have are lifelong because of that institution to close that school would be a deficit to the community the education in the structure their set students up for lifelong accomplishments

It is unethical to close a school at a time when the parents and students have no other options. This should have been done in an open and ethical manner so that parents and students could make the appropriate arrangements. The Catholic Church should be ashamed at themselves for hurting the young people at such an already stressful and uncertain time.
