I have been a teacher in a Catholic School for 25 years. I never heard of closing a school that is financially solvent. Having no debt and $300,000 in the bank should be enough to keep the school open. On another note, no school should close during this pandemic. If you were to close, parents should be informed at least six months in advance.

It is really a shame that future generations won’t have the opportunity to learn and grow in their faith, or be challenged by the academic rigor, self discipline, and moral standards experienced through Catholic education. I sincerely hope the Weymouth community will join the St. Jerome family in their fight to save this valuable asset.

St Jeromes School is financially capable of opening their doors- this school has no debt. The school is not a financial burden but a true financial contributor to the church and community.
