For centuries, Christian/Catholic Church have survived many attacks. By Romans, by Vandals, by Vikings, by reformation, by French revolution – just to name a few well know divers examples. One thing was in common - the attacks have always come from outside .
Now it is perhaps a first time in history that such a blow dealt by its own Roman Catholic hierarchy, from within.

Wonderful Church and especially for the Deaf Community who are able to hear Mass by Sign Language...so importabt to them!!

please don't close this valuable resource for the deaf community. Even though the Americans with Disabilities act has successfully opened many doors previously closed to those with hearing loss, much remains to do to increase access to programs and services for the deaf. Closing St Elizabeth's is certainly a step in the wrong direction. Not exactally what Jesus had in mind when told his deciples that all were welcome at his Father's table. Did he say "except the deaf community."? Please don't take this beautiful and sacred space away from a vroup of people that so courageously worked to support each other iwhile serving the Lord

My family recently attended mass at this lovely church in order to honor the wishes of a cousin's who had recently passed away. Fr. Tom, a visiting priest for more than 30 years gave the most poignant & beautiful homily I have ever had to pleasure to witness. I guarantee that if more priests spoke like this wonderful priest, more lapsed Catholics would return to the church. Thank you,.

Please reconsider, don't close this church! I used to go Hungarian school as a child here & my sister was married here as well. So many good memories. Such sad news to hear of this decision. This is unjust!

I signed this petition previously, but I have to express again how saddened and disappointed I am that St. Elizabeth's is being closed. This is a small parish, but with a very active, committed membership. And what's wrong with small, anyway? Often there's a stronger feeling of community in a small parish. A small church building also is much less expensive to operate than a large one. And how can we lose the only parish serving the deaf and hearing-impaired community?!? This is a grave injustice and makes the loss of this parish so much more devastating. I'm still praying for a miracle.
