St Elizabeth is much more then a place of worship, it's a part of the fabric of the Yorkville community.

Tjis beautiful church is served by a dedicated pastor, Msgr. McCahill. It is my understanding that it is self supporting and free of debt. For it to close would be tragic.

I totally agree with Sherman Pfeiffer that this decision lacks compassion and a sense of value of what this church is worth to this special community.

Pope Francis would never agree to closing this church.. In his Christmas address reported in all the major news outlets today, he "blasted" the church bureaucrats for their "spiritual alzheimers". Cardinal Dolan's closing of this church that has served the deaf community for decades is a perfect example of the spiritual deafness of Cardinal Dolan and the NY Archdiocese. I am a Jewish atheist with no dog in this race, but I am an empathic humanist who finds it impossible to fathom this lack of Christian compassion.

Facility is in good shape, there is no money owed to Archdioces, ample financial reserves to cover emergencies, a supportive and grateful community attends Mass weekly, Five good reasons to keep this Church open, addition to the fact that this is a shining example of how a parish Church should operate!

Dear Cardinal Dolan, I lived on this street for 20 years and this house of God brings so much to the community, please take the time visit the community fully before any further decisions are made.

St. Elizabeth deserves to remain open to continue to serve the diverse group of people who have felt at home there. The caring and open atmosphere at St.. Elizabeth is a beacon for people of faith or those searching for faith. Cardinal Dolan, please keep this light on.
