I have been so grateful for the treatment for my back injury from St Albans hospital over the last 4yrs. Of the many health professionals involved in my treatment, they have all been 5 star amazing people, giving everything to their job, despite so many cut backs and challenges. Many have told me they absolutely prefer working at St Albans to other hospitals in the area. I've had major surgery twice at St Albans as well as many medical procedures and apointments. Seeing I have not been able to drive or sit in a car for very long, I've been so glad I chose St Albans hospital as I rarely would have managed a journey elsewhere. The quality of care and expertise has been fabulous, although the waiting times for appointments and the dreadfully reduced physio provision are appalling! These of course are all to do with cut backs imposed on them. This is a wonderful hospital in the 'people' sense but the building and equipment desperately need updating. (I'm appalled that it was ever agreed that some land could be sold off for housing. We all NEED this hospital.. so please please invest in it. We are a hugely important city.. but our hospital has had so much taken away from it and we are losing the 'heart' of our community. Please INVEST... don't DESTROY!!

The population of St Albans is growing fast, with several new estates being built. We need more services and infrastructure, not less.

We need a hospital service in St albans. It is too far to walk to Watford or Hemel Hempstead.

Services have been cut to a dangerous level already, it's scary.

We need these services. They just want the land. That money will disappear like the hospital land money last time.

With the vast increase in housing in St Albans and further increases planned it is madness to reduce local services.

Not only should these services be retained, but we should also have a proper A&E in St. Albans

All these services should be kept locally to avoid unnecessary journeys, especially for the sick and elderly.

As an elderly resident with a tax paying working life of nearly 40 years, in a region with a growing proportion of the elderly, I think that the range of health services concerned should be retained.

St Albans Hospital plays a vital part in the well-being of the residents of our city and those around us; it provides the health services so needed without having to travel long distances. It's a life saving; especially to the more vulnerable of our society.

I've had to go to hospitals in Brent, Watford, and over towards Heathrow in the last year for NHS - up to 45 minutes drive and hours on public transport. Save our NHS!

Centralising health services without a major improvement in transport facilities is to penalise the most vulnerable patients and their families. Keep hospitals local!

These services are essential to the wellbeing of our community, especially the vulnerable.

Keeping local access to these services is incredibly important, especially for those who are older or less able to easily travel to other towns. A member of my family is currently accessing cancer care and using services at St Albans rather than having to travel to Watford &/or Hemel greatly reduces the pressure and stress associated with mutiple appointments.
