The health board finally confirmed they are keeping our hospital services intact. It has been a long and draining fight but your pressure forced their hand. We will watch them closely to ensure they keep their word.

We note the current public engagement on the future of hospital services in West Herts and the options under consideration. We recognise the importance of retaining local accessible health services in the three major population centres in the west of the county. With that in mind, we call on Herts Valley Clinical Commissioning Group to retain a range of health service provision at the St Albans City Hospital site, to include Planned Surgery, an Urgent Treatment Centre, Midwife-led services, Out-patient and diagnostic services.

The numbers are rising but the road ahead is still long and exhausting. We need a final surge to reach our next target so please get this in front of anyone who cares about keeping our hospital services open.

Watford General performed badly in attempting to refuse admission to my daughter who proceeded to give birth within one hour of the attempted refusal to admit. Traffic congestion around Watford does not permit fast access

It is so important to have hospital facilities in a town the size of St Albans. Harpenden and the surrounding villages all need to use the facilities at the hospital and also. having been a nurse there in the 90's , I know how vital these are to all of the local population and to the increasingly elderly amongst us.

Centralising health services without a major improvement in transport facilities is to penalise the most vulnerable patients and their families. Keep hospitals local!

My mum lives in St Albans, 87 with heart failure. She simply can't keep going to Watford for appointments using buses, the trip nearly kills her. How can a city the size of St Albans not have a hospital?

It’s bad enough that Hemel has closed . Watford can’t cope and which bright spark chose the hospital to be the one near the football ground . Any one with any sense says at least keep what services we have at St Albans .

It is imperative that a city the size of St Albans retains hospital services and indeed would benefit hugely from the re-opening of previously closed wards. With our failing public transport people need to access services locally.
