This is really political correctness run amuck! Please don't change the historical name of this road!

This is ridiculous! It's becoming more important to appease those few than to protect our history/ heritage.

The name Squaw Creek has worked just fine since the 1800s. People living at Squaw Creek are happy with the name. No one living there has complained. In fact even a Native American living there says she is not offended. Tell the pc police they need to move if they don't like things on our side of the mountains. This is change we DON'T need.

The Methow valley is rich in Native American history with many names of creeks, roads and towns representing this History out of respect for what the Native Americans mean to the area including Squaw Creek. Please keep this and all historical names

Many people have grown up with the name and were never offended. Leave it for history sake.

I spent a lot of time up SQUAW creek with the Rains family. I enjoyed every ounce of it. I know the pride my Native American friends have in their treasured town, valley and Squaw Creek. Please do not change what is not broken.

The people petitioning to change the name of Squaw Creek (that they have no connection to) have no idea the hoops the actual residents would have to jump through to change their addresses with every institution they have ever done business with, as well as with their businesses that have been operating for well over 20 years. It is absolutely ridiculous for a woman relatively new to the Methow Valley to think she has the right to change the name of a creek that has been home to many others for decades. The only way the name should be changed is if the residents agree to move forward, as they will be the ones bearing the burden of the change.
