I am Alaskan Native, my sister has lived there for 34 years. We do not want to see the name changed.

I think this is terrible, the name was there when she moved in if she didn't like it she shouldn't have moved into this valley. If she thinks this name offends her think how she will be treated from here on. Appears it takes 1000 votes to over ride one person. I'm 1/4 Native and am in no way offended by the name. I'm more than willing to make a donation towards the rental of a UHaul so she can move somewhere less offensive like Snowflake Ville. Tired of this, does 12 tribes offend her. Some people.

I grew up knowing and enjoying the Methow Valley. Squaw Creek is an important part of the Methow Valley. This should not change. Absolutely ridiculous

As a Native American who was raised up Squaw Creek, I don't find the name offensive. What I find offensive is someone who feels the need to change the name with no regard of the opinions of those who actually live there. Squaw Creek is full of history, memories, and has sentimental value to many people, changing the name is like taking that away from those of us who actually have an attachment to it.

Our emergency responders know the creek as Squaw Creek, for safety purposes you need to leave the name Squaw Creek.
