I moved to Springwell Village 18 years ago because it was a village. We don't want it to become part of a bigger conurbation

If we lose more greenbelt land and build more houses then it will no longer be a village

Totally disagree with the comments in the press last week that the village has no identity, focal point. The justification to build on the greenbelt by Hellens is unfounded. Comparing Springwell Village to Teal farm that was a brown field site is also unfounded saying that the residents association will have a say in what is developed!. What the Washington / Gateshead area needs is new big businesses in the existing industrial estates to provide the jobs for future generations, Hellens and other should invest their money there!

i lived in the village in 1965 when it was 'a village' there have been hundreds of houses built there. Surely we don't need any more. T his would only take away from the meaning of a village.

Stop all this unnecessary building the green fields of cornwall, we only need affordable housing.
