I lived in Springwell Village all of my childhood, and have only recently left. We still live locally and support this petition one hundred percent. I don't believe that people are realistic in how much this will change the village, you won't be able to let the kids go around on their bikes or scooters because the traffic will increase. We have brilliant local business already, in the local shop, local school etc. The school is the heart of the Village and the thought of that being changed in anyway is a shame to the village. I really think this is one of those instance where common sense should prevail, in the sense that, why spoil something that isn't broken in the first place.

the title springwell village says it all....lived there in 1965 when it was a village....there have been hunfrefs of houses built since then.....dont need any mote

Family and I have lived here over forty years. Development would overburden the area which is a small village surrounded by green fields. The main road through Springwell Village cannot cope with the amount of traffic running through it currently. Buses and larger vehicles often come to a standstill due to narrow road's - this would worsen if there were more housing development. Presently, the road's are dangerous for pedestrians due to parked cars, particularly vehicles parked on main route's. Additional traffic versus narrow road's and ligitimately parked vehicles would concern health and safety. Junctions in and out of the village are gridlocked on a morning and an evening - it is difficult getting out of the village to join other road's making people late for work or engagements. This village cannot cope with existing traffic. Further development is hazardous. The environment would be severely affected, where green fields dominate the outskirts - reserved for wildlife and there are some very rare creatures; birds, owls, bats, etc. I would be concerned for their habitat. There must be green areas left untouched for a balanced environment - Carbon monoxide v Carbon Dioxide. There must be a balance and further development would be an imbalance. Many of us villagers came to live here because the village was surrounded by open countryside, people go for walks and walk their dogs, a quiet, peaceful place away from suburbia. We bought into this beautiful area which is now threatened of being transformed into a "New York with traffic likened to that at Champs Elysees and the roundabout at Arc de Triomphe". Our future lives are to be made difficult by over development. I foresee great difficulties in getting to work on time, deterioration in health due to imbalance; i. e. increased air pollution, loss of the birds and the bee's who help make the countryside a wonderful place, congestion on main road's and risk of death or injury to motorists and pedestrians, many of
