There are already too many new houses in the village already that it's full to capacity. If there are more built on our precious greenbelt our village will soon merge into the surrounding area!

The speeding through the village is getting worse, it will be horrendous if they over populated the area, plus the whole reason we moved to springwell was the surrounding green space, can't believe that they wish to build on it

lived in village for 20 years ,love i,t there are houses up for sale let people buy those and save the green belt .

I live nearby rather than in the village but love the free belt area as I go to and from work and walk around the springwell area regularly. Green belt wa create specifically to leave green places between our cities for residents to enjoy and that purpose remains and important one.

i do not live in Springwell but have always admired the mix of old and new combined to create a beautiful but self contained village. this new plan sounds too big and will destroy Springwell as a VILLAGE. i am not against change but do not feel that all change equals progress. i have to ask though, how can greenbelt land be purchased without an agreement on the tenancy that it is to be preserved? in my view, if a housing company buys land, they are already confident that their cause is won, no matter how much 'resident consultation' takes place.

We need such areas. They are the lungs of Washington and Gateshead, keeping pollution at bay. Washington Developement Corporation put a covenant on the land not to be built on.
