Springwell is an oasis in the area given over to so much building. Keep it green and reduce traffic in a village never built for as many vehicules.

I moved to springwell village to live in a village. I wanted to live where there is great community spirit. I wanted to live some where smaller than a housing estate, or a town where no one knows your name or even wants too. This is my little bit of countryside and I do not want to live on a huge estate connected to other huge estates. If I had wanted to thats where I would have moved too. I will do all I can to help the residents stop this village from turning into a town!!!

Ex resident - I grew up here in fact. Springwell Village is a small, quiet, beautiful village with a lovely community feel to it. This development going ahead would be a complete disaster - it just won't be a village any longer! The reason it is such a popular place to live is because it is surrounded by greenbelt. Take that away you've lost a major selling point. Not to mention the problems of all that additional traffic. When I was first told about this I thought it was a sick joke! It really must be stopped.

we need to maintain the greenbelt to keep springwell a "village" . we don't need anymore housing , if there were to be anymore properties built it would cause major infrastructure problems, the village can't take anymore traffic and parking would become an even bigger issue.

Ex Springwell resident and working at Bowes Railway. It would destroy the ethos of Springwell to build on the green belt land. Once it's gone it's gone. Don't let it happen please!

My family were brought up in and around this village and it should be kept as it is a rural village on the outskirts of the big towns. It would be a disaster if 500 home were built in this area.

I've only lived here for 9 years and the housing that has already been built is bad enough! At least they were built on land that was used was a brown field site. Building on green field sites will destroy the village's identity.
