Board Member Marshall was elected to represent District 5. The overwhelming majority of families seem to not be in favor of this plan. Let’s deal with the capacity and performance issues with each school/neighborhood directly vs. student arbitrage and robbing Peter to Pay Paul.

My 3 grandchildren have been in the German program since kindergarten and will be attending South. It should not even be a consideration to move this program.

This happened to me at a Union Ctny high school in the 90's. I wanted to take Latin, but they removed it. Latin is a language I needed for later in life, including my research. Learning other languages removes barriers and opens the world to minds. Keep the World Languages program!

Dear Jacob, I saw your story on WBTV and it really struck home with me. I was born in Frankfurt Germany. I spoke fluent German until my preteens. I too, took a German class at WC High School. In the 70's CMS began busing students, and I was bused to West Meck, which did not offer German. Prior to my Sr. year I went before the CMS School Board to state wanting to continue taking German. We didn't have computers back then, but I did compose a pretty good speech requesting a transfer back to West Charlotte Sr. High School so that I may continue taking German. My speech was televised, which was pretty cool. I signed your petition. Viel Glück junger Mann. Ich wünsche Ihnen für Ihre glänzende Zukunft alles Gute. Kenny Maxwell

I believe that the proposed CMS plans need more input before they are implemented. Most valuable is input from students like Jacob. We should all listen to these young people!

In the current educational situation, kids need stability. Don’t add more churn to their lives.
