Small family businesses are the backbone of the nation, using a cliché, but fair taxation is a must.

Being taxed in this fashion and losing the ability to incorporate would make it impossible for me to take a maternity leave, let alone save for a pension. The funds drawn from the OMA are not even enough to sustain the office costs in my absence let alone provide for my needs. This is a poorly thought out plan.

While I agree in tax fairness, the government has portrayed us as tax cheats exploiting a tax loophole. Incorporation was a deal the provincial government made in exchange for further cutbacks to our incomes. We just followed the rules, but will now suffer serious consequences of this arbitrary and sudden reversal.

This has significant impact on the way small businesses manage finances that allow for moderate offsetting of the advantages provided by larger corporate and institutional employers. This must be carefully considered.

These proposed tax changes could be very hard on my small business.
As a life time Liberal Party voter, I will abandon the Party if any of this is enacted.

Business owners who have done tax planning / retirement planning / succession planning are operating under a legal tax system, not a bunch of loopholes. It is punitive to undo all of that without a course of action that allows business owners to preserve what they have built. There are far too many 'unintended' consequences to the changes as proposed.

These changes are outrageous! This is a reckless move from the government that will harm Canada in its entirety (not only small businesses owners but also employees).
