I don't support the recent tax proposals since I believe it will discourage entrepreneurs from going into business. These proposals were launched in the middle of summer with a very restrictive time frame. Canadian small business deserves better.

Exceedingly unfair, and very shortsighted. This is not going after the 1%.
I was one of those swing voters who voted Liberal in the last Federal election. That will not happen in the next election.

This move by the Federal Government will decimate the business owners and the "engine" of our economy. The idea is I'll-conceived and has far reaching ripple effect on the middle class.

Small business is constantly engaged in a struggle to look after customers, pay taxes and make progress.
Previous governments have put income tax provisions in for good reasons.
If ways to cut costs and are needed, I call upon this government to look for ways to do this without attacking the small business people who are doing their best to employ average Canadians, even including their own family members.

This is unacceptable plan that is targeting a large group of people to penalize a small group

This is an arbitrary and rushed reversal of established rules governing small businesses which should not be confused with a "tax fairness" strategy; as outlined in the Globe and Mail of 9 September, tax fairness can be achieved within the current rules. One should accept that this is a cynical political strategy of the Federal Government, designed to play well come election time. In the process, our Government has demonstrated that it is very willing to demonize some.

This tax change for corporations is unfair and disingenuous. While I believe that the tax structure should be fair there are a number of reasons that these changes punishes small business for its success and hard work.

Our small business (we build approx. 30 homes a year in the Greater Kingston area) will be negatively impacted by the new proposed federal tax legislation.
We have 5 full-time employees and create further employment for another 50 - 70 people who are our sub-trades aiding us in our home construction.
The more stringent tax laws being proposed will further limit our profits which we plow back into the company in retained earnings to expand and create more Greater Kingston based employment.
My business partner and myself are opposed to the new proposed tax changes.

These proposed changes need a longer consultation period and consideration for the lack of benefits and pensions that the incorporated business owner has, compared to what many salaried positions hold.

The proposed changes will hurt small business and change the rules drastically in the middle of the game with virtually no notice. Extremely unfair to those that have planned and funded their retirement using existing rules.
I am in favour of this petition.
