I will reconsider my long allegiance to the Liberal party if these proposed changes are accepted.

When you hurt small business people, you hurt the middle class. The Liberals can claim they will not hurt the middle class; the Liberals are lying; they know it, we know it. Shame on the Liberals for picking the pockets of small business people to help their corporate friends such as Bombardier. Shame on them.

Far too sudden decision , not enough thought as to the effects it would have on small business owners

These proposed changes discourage individuals from taking the risks inherent in establishing a business. An individual may start a business but it is short-sighted of Mr. Morneau to believe that the family doesn't share in the risk and in doing so should ultimately share in the reward. Think this through.

Canadian small businesses are a significant part of the Canadian economy. These proposed tax changes will penalize small business.

There is a widespread belief because of this matter that small business owners are paying less tax. This, in reality, is untrue. After 37 yrs in business I know that salary, bonus or dividend makes little difference and the overall tax grab is the same for all.

This is not what we voted for to help the middle class. Small business is the middle class and this will deter people form starting small businesses. the Liberals operated with a platform of taxing the top 1% - Richest Canadians. I think you should fill that electoral promise instead of harming small business in Canada

I spent years building my small business. I was offered many perks to move my business to the US (no corporate tax for 10 years, $5million dollar interest free loan, moving expenses covered, employment for my wife etc. etc.). I decided to stay in Canada even though I would have been much further ahead financially.
I paid a lot of money to the Canadian Gov't from my US sales....all our development was Canadian, employed a number of individuals and I thought that was a huge win for Canada.
After retiring at 45, my only source of income is from my corporation....with what is being proposed, I should have moved to Pennsylvania as I would have been much further ahead than what Mr. Trudeau is looking to do myself and my family.

I am very upset by the proposed tax changes that your liberal government plans to implement. I have just retured and most of my income comes from my corporation. It will affect my investments and how I am taxed on them to my disadvantage . I am outraged by these changes. There needs to be more time to assess the total impact.

This appears to be a fast tracked decision made for political mileage and not as a good business decision. Coupled with the Ontario proposed minimum wage hike, this will be crippling for many small businesses.

I'm a retired dentist but these new rules will affect the way I can utilize my retirement funds to pay myself as well as my husband who played an integral part in my practice and was legitimately on payroll as was an employee. For the gov't to be proposing to take 73% of corporate investment income is absolutely ridiculous!! Why bother even trying to get ahead when they plan to strip most of it away from us!! This needs to be stopped. They say it is only affecting 1% of working Canadians...I say that's completely insane! And they say they are going after the "wealthy"....hardworking small business owners are hardly wealthy. Justin Trudeau even thought that medical doctors get paid for mat leave....what? They need to get their facts straight and if this gets through, good bye Mr. Trudeau.
