I realize that I am a small business owner in Alberta where our opinions no longer matter to Ottawa. Nonetheless entrepreneurs in the West. like our counterparts in the rest of Canada, are uniformly against these punitive and confiscatory proposals. They should be withdrawn and a proper consultation process with Canadians undertaken.

this is being pushed way too fast; more time needed for review, consultation, etc.

My postal code is K7K 6K8 Public understanding needs to improve - such as recognising that tax increases affecting small business will create a trickle down effect that includes how much support they can give to community events, sponsorship, charitable donations, etc.

This is truly not fair to us small businesses that run it legit/right. Our small town is made up of all small businesses that bring revenue and jobs to our community. I disagree with this period!

This proposed change is a dangerous impediment to small businesses and threatens the health of the Canadian economy. While it may seem like an easy cash grab to the government, the people of Canada need to be aware that their jobs often depend on a healthy business sector, and job security of all Canadians is threatened by funneling more money into federal government expenditures.

While I am all for fairness in the tax system for all Canadians, I am certain that the proposed changes are too rushed and do not take into account the risks associated with starting and keeping a small business operating. The examples provided by Morneau & Trudeau of comparing incomes earned through employment vs a business, fail to take into consideration the risks taken by the business owner year after year. Business income is certainly no where as certain as that of employment income. The proposed changes need to take this into consideration or else many small businesses will simply close up shop. We need incentives that build our businesses, that would generate more work for all. Higher taxes reduces our ability to work which reduces the tax we pay. This is a net loss solution.

As someone who has worked collecting a pay check and now taking on risk to start a business, the tax laws should not be changed to treat each situation "fairly". Without people starting businesses, you won't have anywhere for people to work, which means you will have less taxes anyway. Business owners are putting everything on the line to be successful. They should be entitled to some legal 'perks' versus someone who decides to just to be safe and collect a pay check every two weeks...as it was so eloquently stated in the Summary of Provisions on the government website. Get Real!! I am putting everything on the line...my house, my family savings, etc. so that I can create a business in Canada. I have even hired 5 staff. And now it's proposed that I am to be taxed in a fair manner equal to someone getting paid by such businesses. I'm sorry... there is some flawed thinking somewhere there.

Any more tax on small business will force our country into a recession which will affect all tax revenue this is attempting to generate as well as increase an already high unemployment rate. If the government was wiser with spending and handouts there would be no need to increase taxes on small business.
