Although I do not live in Skegness I do visit occasionally and have a reasonable knowledge of the town. Being involved also with a local facebook group I see comments made by regulars and the more I see the more I think this is a ridiculous idea. There are much better places premier inn can be built and not to the detriment of the foreshore. Bad idea ELDC I am totally against it

Building a Premier Inn on the pier field is ridiculous. Hotels in Skegness are struggling as it is to fill rooms and this will do nothing to attract more visitors to Skegness. The foreshore should be for attractions only not hotels especially as the pier field is required every bank holiday as an overspill for car parking. The space has been sucessfully used for displays and attractions for a long time now and for ELDC to consider this site for a Hotel smacks of stupidity. Premier Inn yes, but on a more appropriate site not OUR foreshore...

There is no need whatsoever for more hotels in Skegness. This will only spoil the look of the place with a premier inn stuck there.

Although I don't live in Skegness I have family living in Skegness and frequently visit, and on day visits we always meet and spend the day in town so it is always just as much a day trip as well as visiting family. I also plan to move to Skegness myself in the future and I am very interested in Skegness, its history, present and future both as a visitor and future resident and as such I already moderate for a local forum and admin various Skegness Facebook groups and pages and support and help with a local community group. I firmly believe this last remaining green area of land on the foreshore should be maintained as a recreational space for residents and visitors to enjoy at any time, as well as for planned events and entertainment purposes. I believe used to its full potential with more events and entertainment being allowed to take place this land will be even more of an asset to Skegness by attracting both residents and visitors into the town, which in turn will benefit the town as a whole. After all, if people are out and about there is every chance they will spend money; money spent in Skegness and not elsewhere. Regards the possibilty of a Premier Inn being built on this site if sold, I really do not think this would be in the best interest of Skegness. Apart from the reasons already given for not selling this land, I really do not think this is the right location for such a building, whether a Premier Inn or anything similar. I believe it would spoil the general look and feel of the area and again this is an important factor to consider.Sadly once sold this valuble asset will be lost forever.

I have nothing against Premier Inn but the pier field should be kept as an open space for people to use.

If this goes ahead it may put hoteliers out of business. This is also a recreational area for children to play and not forgetting an over flow car park. The SO festival also use this area. Listen to the residents of Skegness, we do not want this area used other than the purpose that it has been used for in past years!

This feild is the property of the people and should be put to the use of the people, not used buy money grabbing. idiots who cannot do thier jobs properly thus putting the balance of the financial situation of the council in the Red, If the council wish too make money to balance the books maybe they should cancel the suggested pay rise of 11% they have awarded themselves without consultation off the people they supposedly represent, Then hoteliers of skegness have enough trouble with thier trade without the horrific though of a multistorey hotel blocking all but light out, again this is the actions of the mindless few who have no thought for those they are suppose to represent,

There are no hotels that side of the road. Don't think it will be in keeping of the area. Loss of green area. Eyesore from the beach.
