Leave our leisure facilities alone! There is not much to be proud of in our town and they are a major selling point! You will be forcing people out the area!

It's a disgrace that a local council are considering taking away the pleasure of locals who possibly voted them into office! As usual, like my own couuncil, they come up with a feeble excuse & blame the Government! My own council are now looking to invest taxpayers money in a new bank venture that is headed up by someone who doesn't pay his taxes due to his offshore interests ! People need to vote with their feet !

We need our green spaces and children need to be safe and have an opportunity to learn about animals and enjoy playing in Sherdley Park

It's sorry state of affairs that the council choose to take this action. Who's bright idea was it spend £2m on a Sculpture that generates no real measurable income? Closing swimming pools and golf courses is not the answer. The problem is councillors with little commercial acumen and no appetite to make the towns current assets and attractions run properly.

I thought the whole of sherdley park was donated to the people of St. Helens and as such is protected. The council seem to want to remove vast swathes of greenbelt for housing and employment development, now they want to also take away leisure activities. Clueless as usual, will they ever change. Where will the golfers who can't afford private club fees play? Probably on the municipal courses of the far more prosperous towns surrounding us!

I started playing golf here in the early 80's, then joined St.Helens golf club. There have been some great golfers come from here, to name one, Paul Roberts who is now the professional at Grange Park. This cannot be allowed to close down.

This can't happen. These are the main areas that bring visitors to St. Helens and make the area and town attractive to families!!!

I grew up around the park it's ridiculous why build there? Renovated some of the industrial sites around St helens as there are areas that look a total mess!!!!!

Resources like these need to be embraced by councils, not done away with just to make a quick dollar and turned into distribution centres for retailers!! Review councillors expenses instead, you would no doubt save more money that way. Remember YOU work for the people of this town. We put you in power and we will take you out of power.

Come on St Helens Council This area needs this ,for the young and older generation for pleasure and for fitness, The pool was taken away, now this !! This area is getting more deprived and run down and let down by yourselves. Seems this area of town is not as important as other large parks in St Helens.

Reduce the number of counsellors to make sufficient savings to maintain these valuable local amenities.

St. Helens councillors should be ashamed of themselves with what they are doing to this town. Need to get them out at the next local elections.

The original owner of the park sold it to St.Helens Corporation in 1949 for £18,700. for the park to be used by the people of St Helens
