this would be a tragedy to the community of St. Helens and the surrounding areas, if they were to close. The golf club is a municipal course, so isn't it everyone's course and not just the councils???.

Disgraceful that St Helens a Council are clever considering closing such a popular and historic facility. I grew up playing golf with my dad on the golf course and further back visiting pets corner. Our children should enjoy my the same

St Helens is a mess.. its a ghost town with derelict buildings. Especially in the Sutton area! Sherdley Park golf course & pets corner is an attraction & it will be tragic to close it

For this to be even considered is a crime. This golf course (which is amazing) and pets corner has been a visitor attraction for years. The public have been enjoying these facilities for generations.

As a past captain and still a playing member I think it's a disgrace I'm sure if they put it up for tender at a reasonable price somebody would take it on

Joke, building on the golf corse, it's full off wildlife and always busy. It must make money also as its busy. Just a quick money making scheme for a councillor whos in office short term. Instead of thinking about long term profit.

Why are you taking all the facilities away from the people of St helens? How can Widnes, Warrington and surrounding areas look to be flourishing and our town is declining? Is it because they have a council who can manage their budget?

Sherdley park is a fantastic golf course for players of all age's and abilities it is unfair for the local authority to take this away from the community.
People are living longer and need exercise, obesity in children at primary school age is at 33% nationwide golf would be great exercise for anyone and everyone

Another poor show by St Helens Council. Departments within the council should be reviewed with departmental management positions put at risk in an effort to improve slackness and effort.
