Sherdley Park is a great course that is affordable to local people. To lose it would be incredibly sad for the community

Shameful decision to sell off another piece of St.Helens. We should be protecting all sports (especially outdoor) facilities for generations to come!

I myself do not play golf however I find it unbelievable that something that benefits the community and has been part of our town for years can just be closed. Surely savings could be made elsewhere.. Perhaps at the town hall??

Incredulous decision, many people in the area regularly keep fit using this facility .

Tipically narrow minded thinking of St Helens Council, to close one of the few amenities within the town that would be classed as excellent. Golf is no longer an elitist activity. It can be enjoyed by young and old alike, and should be retained and improved to provided both physical and social interaction.

I first played here in '75 when Peter Parkinson was the Club Pro. My parents bought me my first two sets of clubs from him. It will be a disaster for the who.e community to see it closed. Get a grip!
