This cricket club is more than that, it is the heart of the local community and it is a home for the spirit of that community both old and young.
The club has given me many happy memories, and the people who run it, attend it, give up their time to see it operate and function are welcoming, inclusive and dedicated to their core.
To lose the club would be of significant detriment to the health and well being of many children and young people.
The Local Authority should be celebrating this club and all that it provides not putting it in jeopardy. With council budgets cut, then local community groups like Shenfield CC are the best value for money, cost effective resources available to government organisations, and any short sighted decisions now will have significant expenditure effects down the line. Health and Wellbeing costs faced by the Local Authority are reduced significantly by community groups addressing children and young peoples needs at clubs like Shenfield CC, and none do it better than this club

Please reconsider your plans. Where do you want these kids to spend their evenings weekends ? Roaming the streets? This is a fantastic community where parents grandparents watch their children & grandchildren playing the sport they love.

The club is such a vital part of the community. Four generations of my husbands family have played there for years, and enjoyed the community spirit. I've been attending for a few years, and it's the warmest group of people you will meet.
It's great for all to enjoy! Whether spectators or players, it's valued by all.

Please don't put our wonderful cricket club at risk of having to close. It benefits so many children and adults and is a wonderful hub of the local community.

I cant believe im having to sign a petition AGAIN. This fantastic club has been a hub of the community for decades. It has been a place where hundreds of children have been able to enjoy themselves in a healthy way, keeping active and learning about teamwork.
This issue seemed to be resolved 2 years ago when a mutual agreement was reached. The council are now going back on their word which is disgraceful.
Do the right thing and leave Shenfield Cricket Club in peace!

Yet again, Council hypocrisy threatens a successful, community club which benefits local people - both young and old.
