More effort should be put into saving this school. This closure has been poorly handled.

Not only a school with a Principal and Teachers who truly care but a community who help one another.

I went to SFA for most of my life and SFA is like my home away from home. So I love SFA and hope it stays for more people to make memories

As a parent of two SFA graduates, I am deeply saddened by this news. Our children were blessed to have attended the school from preschool to grade 8. They received MORE than an education. They were shaped into good, positive, responsible, and faithful human beings. SFA is truly a faith community with dedicated and nurturing faculty, administration and parents. In this world of conflict and division, we need more "instruments of peace" – a line from SFA's mission statement which all graduates can still recite. God bless the SFA community, both past and present. Thank you all!

That school has been there as long as I can remember. My mother is 87, her first teaching job was at SF. It would be a shame to close that school!

Now more than ever this beautiful school needs to remain open!

I have been a parishioner here for 52yrs. Also I was school secretary from 1975 to 1978. I feel very bad that will close I was president of mothers guild when the nuns left and in committee to keep school open. Also we were getting a new pastor at the time. We ended up getting a pastor who believed I catholic education. God has always taken care of St Francis when no light as seen at end of tunnel!!! But these times are worse. I hope you are given a chance to one more year and time to see what can be done. I had a tour of school several years ago and was amazed at what you have. I was secretary bookkeeper and part time nurse. We couldn’t afford any of these people !!!! Best of luck I know it order to stay open many pArents have to volunteer there time. God is good all the time All the time God is good

This is such a shame to hear ! Same thing happened when my children went to St Ann’s in Quincy . We sold our beautiful home in Quincy and moved to BRAINTREE

Please give the children a chance!

St Francis of Assisi School is more than just a place to learn, it's an extension of our family. Our son Ian has been at St Francis since Kindergarten and would be going into his 5th year as a 4th grade student. Ian made his First Holy Communion here with his classmates amd friends. The kids have been together for years and have become like a family. To close this school will have an everlasting affect on all our children and our sense of community. We would strongly urge you to reconsider the closing of our school and allow our children to continue their education. Please don't close the doors on the only school they know. I went through this scenario every year at Don Bosco in the late 90’”we re closing, we are staying open, we are shifting, we are closing” I stuck it out for a school and a church that I believed had the kids interest at heart. In the end greed and money won and the school closed after my Jr year. At least they had the courtesy to give us 5 months notice. On January 21st 1998, when they announced the closure, my heart broke. My faith in the archdiocese forever changed that day. Please don’t make this mistake for these children, for these families, and for this community. They have endured enough. They have shown faith and resilience that should make us all proud. Allow them more time to grieve this loss and attain the closure they deserve. After years of support, they have earned that much.

The children need stability, closing the school would be detrimental to their development and hinder their emotional growth! Please reconsider closing and think of the families that are impacted!!

My daughter had an excellent education at St. Francis of Assisi. Please reconsider closing the only Catholic grammar school in Braintree!!

attending st. francis has made me the person i am today. it has given me the confidence to express myself, the knowledge to succeed in high school and beyond, the faith to continue my journey as a catholic young woman, and the community of support that i continue to return to, even after i graduated four years ago. until the beginning of the pandemic, i was in the building once a week as a drama club volunteer. my teachers from st. francis continue to support me and two of them even went out of their way to attend my high school’s musical this past fall. that doesn’t happen at any other school. my younger brother still attends this amazing school that my family and i have been at for eleven years. i pray that there is a way to save this life changing school and community.
