I am very sad to hear of the abrupt closing of SFA. Please reconsider. My twins graduated last year, and we couldn’t have been happier with the education they received, the experiences they had, the dedication, hard work and love of the teachers, and what is certain to be lifelong friendships they made (and me in turn with their friends’ parents). Is there a way to reach out to alumni? Could someone who is computer-savvy create a GoFundMe page? I too am willing to help.

It is very sad to see any school close, be it public or private. Perhaps the people who feel so strongly about keeping the school open could look into what the parents at St. Columbkille in Brighton did. It is a private school. The parents totally fund it and have a with a partnership with BC. The parishioners of St Francis cannot, and should not, be subsidizing this school when they have to fund the churches of St. Francis and St. Clare. This is no longer a parish school, has not been for many years. To expect the people of the parish to be picking up the difference between what tuition covers and the expenses of maintaining the building is unrealistic in these times. There are many good schools out there. It is what parents instill in there children at home that matters. A loving, happy family always is more important than what school a child attends.

Closing this school, where significant numbers of family and friends both attended and supported, will only further erode my faith and support of the Catholic Church and its' related institutions. You're only as strong as your foundation folks and your foundation is crumbling around you yet you continue to make ham-handed decisions like these and only further alienate your base. I'd ask that you reconsider this rather rash decision to close such a fine and respected school. I'll await your final decision with extreme interest.

The future of our country and the church rests in the hands of our children. They are the only way to increase church attendance now and in generations to come. Closing Catholic Schools is counter to this mission and counter to the teachings of Jesus. Now more than ever, we need more Catholic Schools.

The buck stops with the pastor not doing enough to work with the person is at the church the parents of the students going up to school for sufficient funding and not doing enough to bring people in Agonizing so the school can continue Guarding the students to a quality education so I really felt the pastor in this and I asked at the school be kept open and that we work to provide sufficient funding for the students in this time of need to learn
