Remove mandatory boat trip following prom dinner, instead make it optional or just get rid of it so we can leave and go on with our nights individually with our friends right after dinner.

prom is always planned by the junior class. There however should be an option for the boat or not. The majority of seniors would like to leave, while some juniors want the boat since they don’t have a separate boat trip. It’s a very long day, where many don’t want to be there the whole time. On top of that everyone has their own post prom. Getting back at 4 am isn’t the best idea for the mirror fact that sunday is mother’s day. There should be an option. Seniors will have to pay $200 for prom plus other expenses, then pay for a separate boat trip that they will have later down the line. it’s a lot of money that kids truly don’t have.
I won’t spend 200 dollars on a prom ticket plus a tux which is easy 150 minimum. We are high school kids who are all juniors and seniors. The majority of us will be paying for our ticket and our dresses/tuxes. 500 dollars for one day for a high school student is insane. The boat trip for the seniors is something special only for the senior class, and it being taken away and combined with juniors and the rest of the school is disappointing. If this does happen, you will not have people show up to prom. It’s unfortunate but it’s the truth of the matter. Please hear us as students
I'd prefer the boat trip to be separate from prom or not mandatory. If the boat trip does happen I'd like to drive so I can stay in Chicago for the weekend rather than leaving at 4 am.
We should be able to leave whenever and go wherever after prom, not be forced to take the bus home after the boat trip
at this point, we should just have a regular prom?? the boat trip isn’t necessary. should of just kept it separate like previous years
I don’t understand why the school is trying to control our lives more than they already do. Prom is a night for the students by the school. It’s for the upperclassman to enjoy one night together before we all move on with our lives. But when the school starts forcing us to abide by their agenda then we lose our freedom to do whatever we feel like doing. Don’t tell us what to do. Who thought that telling a bunch of teenagers to do something they don’t wanna do would work? Clearly it doesn’t
we can’t do anything to change prom at this point. sad, what an abomination. the whole process that is taken to plan prom is questionable. getting home at 4 am after being out for 12 hours sounds like a death sentence. in reality we’re spending more of our money, that some of us work to get, on something that should be affordable. the idea for prom is a good one, but the restrictions on it are ridiculous. rules are rules we get it, but like take the stick out of your ass and let’s us leave the mf coop.

Having to stay in chi from the start of prom til like 4am is way too long. Especially bc I heard girls have to stay in their dresses the whole time. Also SEHS will just be losing money bc many seniors won’t go. We want the freedom to leave when we please. i say SENIORS LETS THROW OUR OWN PROM!!!
