We just moved here and we love San Clemente. Please don't think of the short-term cost, think of the long-term benefit of preserving the character of our city. Don't let it become bland suburban sprawl like the rest of OC.

The cost should be shared with the city and homeowner. Additional costs beyond what non historic properties pay should be taken care of by the city.

I truly believe it's our duty to preserve the history of San Clemente. Please, continue the restoration and rehabilitation of our Spanish ambiance and architecture. Preserve our red tile sidewalks.

Those sidewalks are integral to the character of San Clemente. Not preserving them would actually lower property values throughout the city. Y'all have to be able to find funds, or take the tax credit, or Mills Act them or SOMETHING. Maybe a volunteer effort to help if it's a big, one-time shoring up of sand or something? I'll help!
