Strongly oppose further expansion of mining in Sand Lake. Detrimental effects would expand well beyond the areas close to proposed mining. Additional heavy truck traffic will cause more air pollution, damage to road surfaces, danger to other traffic; increasing dust in atmosphere spreads way beyond immediate area; water quality in a town currently dependent on both shallow wells and deeper drilled wells to provide water to area residents and businesses. Just a few of unintended consequences!

Why do we have zoning laws and a comprehensive plan and not enforce it. This isn’t a simple request to amend a distance for not having enough space between side boundaries. It’s 70 acres of rezoning for the purpose of expanding a private business owners profits. Why do we have zoning if it can be adjusted by the town board.

The impact of increased mining on our surrounding neighborhoods is unacceptable. We should not even consider this proposed amendment.

I oppose this amendment to the Town's zoning code. It is irresponsible of our town leadership to consider this. It not only goes against the town's comprehensive plan, but it will be detrimental to our community in every way possible. The last thing we need is more blasting, more dust, more truck traffic, truck pollution & truck noise (i.e. Jake breaks at 5am)

I would want more information on this, but 70 acres sounds like the majority if not all of the Gardener land minus a 200 ft setback. Is the town willing provide water to households that could be affected by the mining??

We do NOT need more mines in town and we do a huge disservice to the many homeowners in Bradley Park, Pond Hollow and Springer Rd.

We have more than enough mining noise, dust and the occasional explosion. The heavy and very noisy truck traffic from the mines seriously reduces the quality of life in our community and our property values. I oppose any expansion of mining beyond the current zoning limits.

Enough! We are totally losing the rural flavor of this area. Will the town be lowering our taxes?
